On the Trail of Early Explorers 

Objectives:

  • Students will gather evidence about early Explorers, as well as explain the impact/changes on world and Natives encountered in the journey.  

  • With the evidence gathered and analyzed, students will create a Google Slide presentation and present to class.

 

Requirements:

  • Each group must share (via Google Drive) a typed bibliography with at least 1 print and 2 non-print sources to Mr. Schreiner. You must include an evaluation of each source with your typed bibliography.  (Mr. Schreiner’s address: schreinerk@sd5.k12.mt.us)

  • The focus of your research questions will be: (5 question minimum)  

    • Purpose and findings of the journey (include country or group associated with)

    • Impact of the journey on the world

    • At least two impacts or changes on tribes encountered with the exploration

 

Google Slide Presentation:

  • Using Google slides, each pair will create a presentation that outlines the evidence and analysis from their research.  

  • Presentation guidelines:

    • 3 slides summarizing the journey and purpose of the journey (Evidence)

    • 2 slides explaining the impact of the journey on the world (Analysis)

    • At least 1 slide explaining changes to natives encountered (Analysis)

    • 3-5 relevant images supporting your research including a map displaying the route taken with URL

    • 1 Bibliography slide with three citations without evaluations
