Montana Cad Information Hunt

 

The goal of this activity is to provide you with the skills necessary to research GIS land information in the State of Montana.  Access the Montana Cadastral website using the button provided above.  Read and answer the questions below using the Montana Cad website.

 

1. Zoom into Kalispell on the map.  Click the legend button in the left hand corner of the site.  What color is the Local Government owned land on the map?

2. Find the Local Government owned land that is located 1/2 mile south of Foy's Lake.  Click on that location and read the information under SUMMARY.  Answer the following questions.

   • What is the Property Address?

   • How many acres are considered AG land?

   • How many acres are considered Forest Land?

   • What is the declared value of the Ag land?

3. Now click the search button in the left hand corner, make sure you are searching by OWNER, select Flathead County from the drop down menu.  In the search field type: WEINBERG LLC .  Select the second property listed and answer the following questions.

   • What is the Property address?

   • How many acres are included in the parcel?

   • What is the declared value of the parcel?

   • Select the dwellings tab: What kind of roof material is used on the home?

4. Return to the search tab.  Select search by address.  Type: 644 4TH AVE W KALISPELL, MT 59901  in the search field.  Select the top address on the list and click on land parcel with the blue marker from your search.  Answer the following questions:

   • How many total acres is the property?

   • Who owns the property?

   • What is the declared value of the land?

   • What is the full legal description of the property?
